Writer's Block: Just another manic Monday [Nov. 9th, 2009|11:37 pm]
[Tags|, , , ]

Do you look forward to returning to work/school on Mondays or do you live for the weekend? What do you enjoy most about weekends? What do you dread most about school and/or work?

I don't look foward to school, but I look foward to the weekdays because that's when most of the good shows come on. I also look foward to the weekdays if I have something else going on during the week. Other than that, I live for the weekend.

I think I just dread the work aspect of school. For example, my Religion class is interesting, but I'd like it much better if I could just listen to the lectures without having to worry about taking notes. Plus, there's all that homework and all of those tests. Oh well, what the hell, as my dad says. XD

That's all for now. :)

"I will steal away into your home and punch you in the face." [Oct. 22nd, 2009|08:53 pm]
Everything's great with my nephew! I think we got his work straightened out!

Also, I'm taking an American Literature class and I just took my first exam. 2 parts: short answer and an essay. I think I did okay on the short answer, but I'm pretty sure I bombed the essay.DDDDD: Well, my teacher said we'd have to wait until Monday, so here's hoping!

Glee was good! I loved "Sweet Caroline" and the whole slushie thing was good. But, I don't like Mr. Shue's rapping. Also, it seems that Quinn goes back and forth between hating the Glee kids and liking them. I mean, at the end of every episode she's shown that they'll be her friends and stick with her, then all through the next episode she'll hate them again. WTF?

Modern Family was funny as always but I need to catch up with Criminal Minds.

That's all for now!

On Fandom and Feeling Like Crap [Oct. 19th, 2009|10:49 pm]
[mood |crappycrappy]

House was cool tonight. Well, what I saw of it; baseball was on and House started late. But it was very good, just like last week's ep.

Okay, now some RL stuff, under the cut for people who don't want to read it.

I feel like a crappy auntCollapse )

Well, that's all. Hope everybody as a great night and an even better day tomorrow. :)

I'm terrible at updating; it's no secret! [Oct. 5th, 2009|09:49 pm]

So, I have a newborn nephew! He's so cute, but I have absolutely no idea how to deal with babies. I get so nervous being around them. As soon as my brother put my nephew in my arms, I tensed up. Clearly I don't have the mothering instinct yet.

In other news, in the wake of The Beatles: Rock Band, I figured I'd listen to The Beatles. I didn't grow up with them or anything so I figured that now was a good as time as any to look up their music. AWESOME. It's so good! I don't have a particular favorite, song or Beatle, but it's nice to finally know what people are talking about. :)

Onto the fandoms! True Blood was okay. I was expecting something grander, more action-packed for the finale, but it was fine. House came back and it was great! I really hope Hugh Laurie gets the Emmy for this season. I know we just had the Emmys, but I hope he wins it for next year. Glee is awesome and certainly living up to the hype!

Well, that's all for now! XD

Writer's Block: Clock Punching [Aug. 28th, 2009|08:18 pm]

What was your first job?
I had a paid internship at an elementary school. I tutored 4th graders and helped out with the after school program. If that doesn't count, well then, I haven't had a job yet. But that internship counts to me, because I worked and got paid for it.

In other news, True Blood was hilarious last week, but I'm pissed it ran 15 minutes short. Nothing really important happened, but the ridiculousness made up for it a little. I'm excited for Sunday!

Writer's Block: Technology’s Impact on My Family [Aug. 11th, 2009|03:41 pm]
[Tags|, , , , ]

How has technology impacted the quality time you spend with your family?
I spend a little less time with my family, but not all that less. I don't know; I've never really thought about it much.

I finally saw Slumdog Millionaire and The Notebook the other day. Great movies. I cried during The Notebook, ngl. :)

Writer's Block: Birthday Shout-out [Jul. 31st, 2009|03:23 pm]

Happy birthday, J.K. Rowling! Which of her seven Harry Potter novels do you think is the most satisfying read?
I would read any of them again, but I like the first four the best. I know these are the ones that some people skip in their rereads, but I like them a lot. I guess because everything seems so happy. Well, not everything, but these books definitely don't have that sense of danger and fear that is present throughout all of the last three books. This series has things that I don't like, but they're small and I'll get over them someday. One thing's for sure: HP >>>>>>> Twilight, I mean, HP is one of my favorite book series. The first one's still true, though. XD

In other news, I got back last Thursday from a week in Mexico visiting my relatives. It was special because my brother and sisters went with me and my parents. My siblings haven't been to Mexico in years, and we all had a great time. Except for the fact that we all had to get up around 8 in the morning every day when we were there. My dad had the whole week planned and we had to be up when he wanted us to. It wasn't that bad. but I'm not a morning person.

We always stay in my dad's hometown, then spend a day in my mom's hometown. The good thing is that they're only about an hour and a half apart.

While we were in Mexico (in my mom's hometown, to be exact), we visited my cousin, a nun, who we hadn't seen in a loing time. She told us all about her life in Rome, her daily schedule, the places she's gone to. It was really interesting and she's really nice and fun to be around.

We brought lots of Mexican candy and junk food back, and plenty of alcohol, too. XD.

The weather was pretty good. The temperature only got to be around 85 during the day, and it went down to about 55 or 60 degrees at night. Needless to say, we enjoyed the break from the heat of Dallas.

That's all for now! :)

Writer's Block: All-Nighter [Jun. 25th, 2009|04:43 pm]

When was the last time you stayed up all night? What were you doing?
The last time I stayed up all night was about a year ago, and I was doing an English paper on The Color Purple (the book, not the movie). I had put it off until around 8pm that night and it was due the next day. Of course, I could have finished a lot sooner if I hadn't been surfing through LJ (damn you ONTD!). But I got it done and I got a B on it, so it wasn't so bad.

In other news, me and my family are going to Mexico for a week next month. We're leaving the 16th. I hope Mother Nature doesn't bring me my monthly gift on the way to or from Mexico, and *definitely* not while we're there.

Speaking of Mother Nature and *the gift* I really hate those commercials.

Anyway, have a great day! I hope, wherever you are, that you're happy, healthy, and the weather's nice. :)

Writer's Block: Set the Scene [Jun. 17th, 2009|01:14 pm]

Empty parking garages, roadside motels, dark caves, dank basements, overgrown forests—what kind of setting makes you feel nervous?
All of the above. Seriously. Not so much when I'm with other people, but when I'm alone, I get really scared. I'm always looking over my shoulder, thinking something's going to pop out and scare/hurt me.

Yeah, I'm a big chicken. But on the bright side, I like chicken. XD
